Thanks
to the merger of animators and technicians that gave rise to MarteStudio, our
cel animation department was able to develop its own proprietary software for
creating digital cel animation during the early nineties, becoming the first
to adopt digital technology in Central America.
This software was conceived after the CAPS system that Disney developed during
the production of The Lion King, and the use of it allowed Marte to recreate
the same effects that made that movie such an outstanding work at the time.
Currently Marte has incorporated commercial tools into the pipeline in such
way that all the stages of the process have become much simpler and more time
can be spent developing new visual styles.
When using filmed footage for compositing with animation, Marte can receive
material transferred to DigiBeta or Betacam SP for high quality D1 resolution
projects. For film projects a telecine transfer burned on individual DVD's or
ADR 15/30GB tapes is generally used (ask about other formats). Marte can work
on any resolution and return the final composites in the same format.
