Post Production

The postproduction department is managed by Christian Glenewinkel, editor and motion graphics artist who has won several awards, most notably for the documentary Polvo de Estrellas (Star Dust) a piece on a Costa Rican sculptor who was chosen by the Vatican to create a statue to fill a niche that was left empty for hundreds of years by Michelangelo himself at the church of St. Peter.

This documentary is soon to be broadcast on HBO Olé.

MarteStudio's postproduction facilities have for the past two years been the choice for Coca-Cola Interamerican to edit and finish its continuous production of advertising campaigns for the Latin American and Caribbean regions.

Marte possesses an editing suite with a Discreet EDIT system, which is generally used for offline editing, and a FLINT Suite for online editing, finishing, regrading, and real time Visual FX sessions.

Most animation and effects projects are finally composited and regraded in this suite.

MarteStudio generally works in D1 format for commercial work, either in Betacam SP or DigiBeta. The FLINT Suite can work on HD and film resolutions of up to 2K (2048x1556). The animation workstations can render and do compositing at any resolution including 4K.

Film work is generally output as a sequence of frames in tape cartridges or DVDRAM discs for use by telecine or optical printer facilities. Film material can be received digitally via the same format.

Schedules are normally handled by appointment; however Marte is frequently available for emergency sessions both in the Edit Suite and in the Flint Suite.

MarteStudio´s postproduction, animation and FX headquarters are located in San José, Costa Rica at an approximate 20 minute drive from the airport.
